Entire house and pool in the heart of the vines

😊: In the excessive heat this little house was blessedly cool with efficient air conditioning and we slept so well here on all 3 nights. The house is comfortable and well equipped. It is a little far out of St Èmilion for walking to a restaurant, especially in the hot weather, but only a short drive. There are also some shops and a supermarket about half a mile away. You would probably need a car or bikes to stay here, though there is a train station and taxis. The pool was very welcome and the hosts, who live in the main house at the other end of the garden, were very nice, discreet and friendly. They offered a lift to the bike hire, which in the end we didn’t need, but appreciated very much. St.Èmilion is very charming with some nice places to eat and I recommend hiring electric bikes to take in the vineyard landscapes. Note- you have to book for tastings in most places- so check. We took a train to Bordeaux for one day and loved the Citè du Vin museum. It was great. All in all a very enjoyable stay.. 😢: The very high hedges around the property give a very enclosed feel and prevent a view of the vineyards which are all around, though do of course provide privacy. The garden area was a little untidy around the small house..
