Lovely accommodation, bed was really comfy, water was hot, location perfect for sight seeeing , Conoe availability first class

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is in a stunningly beautiful setting with easy access to the river for canoeing and swimming. The gite was a generous size for a couple and was well equipped. Our hosts were friendly and very welcoming. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday and would have been very happy to stay on for another week. We hope to return.

We stayed for two weeks at the beginning of September and would happily go back again. The apartment has every amenity needed for a relaxing and peaceful holiday and the gardens are lovely. As the owner says, the stairs up to the apartment are not suitable for anyone with limited mobility but other than that, we would highly recommend it.

After our first visit in 2022 we returned in June 2024 with and fell in love with this unique place again. The river Dronne has a strong sound here which makes you want to listen and helps you to relax and to forget your worries at the same time. You’re living next to the river in this beautiful gîte, enjoying an extraordinary view from the terrace (and the other windows, too). You can have your meals there or just read a book and relax on the terrace couch. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare your meals, including oven, microwave and a big fridge. In the bedroom you’ll find a comfortable king size bed. You can hear the river here, too, but softer and well-tempered. We’ve spent many days just enjoying this awesome place, not to forget the beautifully wild garden along the river bank. There’s a base where you can just rest in the sun and tree shadows or step into the water and have a swim in the cool fresh river. There’s the possibility to use canoes to row upriver. Although you’ll find your peace here, you’re not far away from food supply and interesting places. Ribérac is just a short drive away and has a charming farmer’s market as well as well-equipped supermarkets and bakeries. We did some nice hiking tours in the surrounding. If you’re seeking for more exciting sights, you can visit Perigueux, Brantôme, La Tour Blanche, Aubeterre or Lascaux. Our hosts have been very kind and accommodating again. We booked for an overnight stay with evening meal , en route to Dordogne for 2 weeks! The photos definitely don’t do this place justice. The mere fact that it’s off the beaten track makes it peaceful and unique. We were welcomed with a glass of wine, and sat in the dining area, admiring the chickens! If that doesn’t relax you, nothing will! We met other 2 couples staying there and shared a meal together that evening ( Bianca and Leo) Language may have been a barrier as we don’t speak any Dutch, but it was almost 23:00 before we realised, we had been chatting for 4 hours! If the rest of our holidays turn out to be this good, we were in for a treat! Natasha went out of her way to cater for 2 vegetarians, who don’t eat eggs either! So to make a vegan barbecue is no mean feat😀

We LOVED our stay here! The apartment was even better than photographs and had everything we needed. We visited several places but also loved just sitting on the terrace with the view of the river, bird song and the sound of the water and walking through the glorious garden. Nathalie and Thierry were wonderful hosts and provided a few thoughtful items. The only word of caution would be that anyone with poor mobility would not manage the steps which are steep and narrow. We didn’t have a problem even though we are a mature couple but it would be something to bear in mind and it is mentioned on the property details. All in all we would highly recommend a stay here ffor peace, rest and tranquility.

We never had a place like this before to spend our holidays. Everything we needed for relaxing and forgettin the noises and trouble of the big city where we come from is there: Lovely restored buildings and appartments, a beautyful wild garden, the river Dronne for swimming and canoeing and and and... So...it is not necessary to leave the place, except for the nearby supermarket. Nathalie and her family are very kind an very good hosts. This was not our last stay at this beautiful moulin. It is a romantic, calm, peaceful and beautiful place. Especially when it is hot, becaus of swimming in the river and the Kanu‘s. Nathalie and her husband have a wonderful garden, are very hospitable and nice. We good relax every day more. Sightseeing with car is no problem and footstores are near.
