😊: Grandcamp-Maisy was the ideal location for our visit because all but one of the DDay Landing beaches were to our east (Utah Beach was to our west). The town itself is just lovely, a small sleepy port location, a couple of really good restaurants and easy to get to Mont St Michel too (which we hadn't planned on visiting but it was so close). It's a clean apartment with a kitchen stocked with everything you'd need to cook from 'home' (other than an actual large cutting knife!).. 😢: If you have a hard time carrying luggage up to a 2nd floor apartment (which neither of us did, luckily) this is not the place for you as there is no lift/elevator. Admittedly, I have a back problem so found the mattress (one of the 2 singles in the room I stayed in) uncomfortable. There is no ventilation in the bathroom to speak of. The fan doesn't seem to pull moisture out of the bathroom which may add to a feeling of humidity in the apartment and could cause mold..
