Le Cocon de Laon

😊: Good central location in Old Town Laon. Close to bars and restaurants and a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral area. The apartment was compact, with a lounge, well equipped kitchen area, a bathroom and a cosy bedroom. There was free WiFi and a smart TV.. 😢: We had an extremely long drive to get here and we were very tired. We waited for one hour to get into the place! After taking the keys from the key safe we found that the exterior door would not open … so we couldn’t gain access to the property. After several unanswered messages and phone calls the owner finally helped us to get in. Each time we came back to the property the outer door was a problem so this issue needs addressing. One night we were there another guest (staying in apartment 2) knocked on the window so we would answer the front door and let him in. So we weren’t alone in having trouble with the lock. We were very unhappy that once we were inside there were no bath towels at all. I received a message to say that towels would not be included but that was the day before arrival, when I was in Dover, and 300 miles from home!! We had to get back in the car again to drive to the nearest store to buy towels. I don’t recall reading, in the listing on Booking.com, that towels weren’t included. This should be made very clear upon booking!! Had I known I could have bought towels from home..
