😊: Good location, next to canal & lake, Résidence had a lovely pool which was very quiet.. 😢: If you require a clean apartment, with bed sheets & towels, DO NOT book this apartment as none are provided. No toilet roll provided either ,so ensure you bring your own. It appears that the host relies heavily on the previous guest to clean up after them as that was our exit instructions. It would appear no checks are conducted by the host prior to arrival. On arrival we spent an hour cleaning the place before even unpacking. The floor was dirty with hair, dust & small insects/ants. A child’s hairband was left on the sink unit in bathroom, neither the sink nor bath/shower was clean. There were hand prints all over the patio doors & hall mirror. There was an opened carton of tomato purée in the fridge. Two used dish towels were found lying on the patio outside. Although there were photos of pillows & duvets, It was not clear on the description that bed sheets/pillowcases/duvet covers were not provided. I was advised after payment ‘towels & sheets are not provided , please bring your own’ ! Fortunately I have family nearby who provided for us. The beds have 4 pillows & mattress protectors however these were not very clean, I picked several clumps of dark hair off them & also off the floor. I had to hoover the whole place. There were holes in ceiling where there’d been previous leaks I assume & a leak under the sink with a bowl to catch the drips. The patio door does not lock, when I messaged the host they just replied ‘this is normal, just close the shutter’. To clarify, this apartment is managed by a private host at château jouarres residence. I stayed at this complex 2 years ago, in a different apartment, it was managed by the Résidence & we had no issues at all, it was very clean, bedding & towels were all provided. So please check when you book who is hosting. Or book direct via Résidence website. I would avoid booking this one. Shocking customer service..
