LES ÉPICÉA de Les Pâtis Normandie

Beautiful property and grounds with lots of sunny spots and shady spots. The pool was beautiful too. We did a couple of day trips out but mostly just chilled out and made use of the pool and table tennis. There was also a tennis court with basket ball hoop but we didn’t use it. Good local supermarkets and we tried the local pizzeria and bakeries - all excellent.

Property is lovely, Tony and Pat are great hosts. Pool is a great spot to chill. Cooking facilities were good for self catering. Vimoutiers is close by, can walk in about 30 mins. No complaints, will be coming to stay again.

Well what can I say our stay was simply lovely. The photos do not capture the magical element of Les Patis. The properties charm was delightful. Tony and Pat are both great hosts and could not do enough for our family to make sure our stay was special. Tony even set up a DVD and TV in the communal room by the pool, for all the children staying in the Gites. Our children loved making friend's and now have pen pals in Hamburg, Dublin, and Wigan. The other friendly families made it just a fab place to be for our holiday. The Gite was comfortable and clean. We very much enjoyed the local area the history and good fairs, local markets. The locals in Vermoutiers were friendly and encouraged our children to try their french. All in all a peaceful 2 week's and lovely memories for our family. Thank you Tony and we will see you both again soon.

Just back after an amazing time staying in the quite stunning surroundings of Tony and Pats grounds. The accommodation was lovely and both the pool and hot tub well used by my 7 and 8 year old kids. Tony is very attentive without being intrusive and is very respectful of the fact it's your property for the duration of your holiday whilst at the same time being on hand should you need to know anything! This is a must visit place with decent surroundings however if your anything like us you will enjoy sitting by the pool just relaxing. Only small complaint I had was it was a little dark down at the pool late on however this was hardly an issue. Great value and a perfect getaway spot.

I've stayed several times, which must be a review in itself. Les Epicieas is an ideal retreat for me as a writer, but of course it is ideally for a couple (I believe it can also accommodate a family of 4). Everything is well ordered and cared for, comfortable and on hand. But it'ss the peaceful aspect of this particular gite which appeals to me the most. During the summer months it may be a little noiser, due to being near the (excellent) outdoor heated pool - but then again, so very convenient for your morning or evening dip! Outside of the main holiday period it is a refuge, surrounded by the same beautiful gardens and landscape. There is a walk I particuarily enjoy taking you through the meadows to the river (all within the grounds). Also, it must be said that Tony and Pat are the perfect hosts, attentive and sensitive to those needing help or those needing seculsion. The surrounding countryside, the Pays d'Auge, is superb, and in all directions. Think west Dorset, only more luxuriant. Vimoutiers, the nearest town suffered in the war (the nearby memorial of the Tiger tank adds to the proof), however, is convenient for traditional bread, local fish and groceries. Les Patis, as a whole, enjoys a wide range of facilities - something for all ages and interests - and as a location I would say it's ideal as a springboard for all the major Bass Normandie tourist attractions. Or, of course, you might just like to wander aorund the local countryside and remember what England was like, say, 40 years ago.
