Location avec jardin pour 4 personnes situé entre CAEN et les plages

This accommodation is described in several ways and possibly some details are mistranslated. So, in English, here are some things which turned out as inaccurate. Parking is not onsite: it's on the street nearby. It says there is heating, but the central system did not work, so none in either bedroom, the bathroom or entrance. Just an oil filled electric heater for the living area. It was very cold. Things it says arr supplied: toilet paper was part of a roll to last 2 people 4 nights. Dishwasher tablets: 1 only. Laundry drtergent: none. The host's response was that this was not a hotel. Indeed it was not. The household linen for which we paid 25 was just 1small bath towel and mitt per guest, plus 1 teatowel and bed sheets. Despite the cold, neither bed had a duvet: just a thin acrylic blanket and a top cover. On departure, the host accused us of not cleaning properly because after voluntarily stripping the beds, she found fluff in the corner of the liwer bedroom floor. She did not inspect the upper bedroom, probably because it was difficult to access due to precipitous steps and it being difficult for anyone more than 1.5 metree tall to stand up in there. In reply to claims, accompanied by wagging fingers, that the place was not as clean as on arrival, I tried to point out that seeral of the drinking glasses and plates were greasy, but was shouted down. A depressing stay.

Très bon séjour en famille entre mer et campagne, le calme tout était parfait !!!

Nous avons été très bien accueillis et avons passé un bon séjour. Le gite est situé dans un endroit calme , il est confortable et bien tenu.

Un logement moderne et confortable et un très bon accueil de la part du propriétaire. Le logement est bien situé pour accéder à Caen et à la côte et dispose d'un environnement calme proche d'une voie cyclable (idéal pour les sportifs ou propriétaires canins amateurs de balades).

The property was fairly easy to locate using Google Maps. Once located there were plenty of landmarks to help us find our way back. The apartment was really clean and the kitchen was well enough equipped but could do with a kettle, ironing board and an iron. There was no wi-fi even though the apartment was advertised with free wi-fi. Booking in was no problem with the language problem being resolved by good old Google Translate. We had a problem with the electric induction hob (probably through lack of understanding how it worked) but our host resolved it within 10mins. The apartment is a short walk from the village centre where there is a basic grocery shop, an excellent bakers, a hair dressers and a pub. The pub was basic but with friendly staff. They only appeared to serve food during the day not in the evening. Note that the shops close between 1300 - 1430. There is a fairly unpredictable bus service and we tried to get three day bus passes but there did not appear to be any available. Back to the property where there was parking 10m from the apartment. The area is very peaceful and rural but not that far of the main routes however if you are not driving taxis are expensive (Euro 30 for a 7km journey). We opted to clean the apartment ourselves saving Euro 45. The hand over went very smoothly and we were on our way home by 0900hrs. I would rate this apartment 5/5 with the only faults being the lack of wi-fi, which we thought there was, the absence of a kettle and it's geographical location being a bit isolated and the unreliable bus service. Would we stay there again - yes.
