😢: The described box for returning keys were not to be found. A bit frustration. But a call solved without further issue..

😊: The Loft is an extra special place to stay. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and accessorised. You can tell that great attention to detail has been given to sourcing excellent quality items and furnishings. Very comfortable firm mattress and hotel quality sheets. Amazing Grohe push button shower. Very effective air conditioning which was priceless in this hot weather! Cool and airy, with optional electric blinds to cover the huge window on one side. Otherwise, not overlooked. Positioned just on the edge of the old town, so easy to stroll into the centre within 5 minutes, or another 5 back to the railway station in the other direction. We found it easy to find, and access was relatively simple. There is a stone spiral staircase to access the property, with about 27 steps to the first floor. We were lucky to meet the owner Philippe who was happy to give us a tour of the attached chapel. Highly recommended!. 😢: Very little to dislike! However, maybe some wall hooks would be useful to hang outerwear (not needed in this hot weather though!), a shelf in the bathroom to put frequently used toiletries, a full length mirror (the only mirror is in the bathroom above the sink), and perhaps some more kitchenware and bowls. (We didn’t cook at all in the apartment, but if you wanted to do so, there is a basic selection of cookware, and a nice hob/oven).

😊: Spacious and quirky.. 😢: We loved it although it was a bit tricky to find! Whilst I’d have to admit that it is at No. 6 the massive electric entrance gates aren’t what you might be looking for! The information on Booking.com also states that on site parking is available - which it isn’t. Public car park next door but definitely not on site..

😊: We love chapel conversions, so I had to book Loft de la Chapelle Sainte Blondine - a beautiful space, and an ingenious design, very light and airy. Loved the adjacent cultural spaces - a reading of Dantes inferno was being performed the night we arrived. Also the location - convenient for the train station, the old town, and the Pompidou Centre. Phillipe, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. The vast selection of teas on offer was also most welcome.. 😢: Ingenious design often equates to impractical living, and although the walk in shower was the best we have ever encountered on our travels, the small bathroom space left no room to put toiletries. Also there were some differences between information from the management company and from the owner, which left us a bit confused..
