Luxury Guardian's Cottage with private heated pool and river access, Chez Bigot

Mary and family are very accommodating beautiful cottage and surrounding areas, beautiful walks down the river, not everyday see buzzards high in the sky or owls in the trees honestly can’t rate this high enough, will definitely return, piegut just a short drive away with a beautiful market, honestly faultless Mary even brought us homemade pizza which put the icing on the cake

We had a lovely stay, a charming gite with everything we needed. It was so quiet. Mary kept in touch regularly and we felt veey welcome.

We came to have a nice relaxing break away and that's exactly what we had. Lovely place to stay, great hosts, peaceful and great walks with our dog. Would definitely recommend.

One word: fantastic! Mary and Sam are friendly and very helpful (including providing guidance in the area, making restaurant reservations and after an incident with a dog). House is wonderfully spacious and the pool is great. Lots of privacy in the enclosed garden which the dog also enjoyed very much. House and garden enclosed by large private grounds

The best thing about the Guardians Cottage is definitely Mary and her husband Sam. They are really lovely and very helpful. The garden is gorgeous and the pool was great and bigger than we expected. The gite itself is big. 2 very large bedrooms, a very large lounge diner and a big kitchen. It also has 2 very large en-suites, one with full bath and one with a walk-in shower. There was plenty of hot water! There is a washing machine that was easy to work despite being a French model 😄. It's located down a bumpy lane which was fine in our car but don't go in a low sports car. It's really quiet with just the occasional sheep in the background or the odd chicken. Mary brings you fresh eggs which were delicious. It's about a mile into the nearest village of Busseroles and has good connections to the bigger roads to get out and about. A minor disappointment was that there was no welcome pack. A pint of milk, some bread, cheese and butter would have been appreciated, especially as we didn't arrive until 7pm-ish. Just a minor point though. Overall a great gite, completely private, in a lovely location with smashing owners.

Stunning location with beautiful walks around the owners land. The Property was beautiful and very well equipped. The garden was also beautiful with a lovely big pool. The local village is charming with a nice Bar/Restaurant and bakery. Location is great for visiting local villages, towns and cities by car. All in all a mixture of relaxing and exploring was perfect and Mary was amazing !!!! Would definitely recommend

This is our third (or fourth?) visit here and once again it did not disappoint. Mary, Sam and family made us very welcome with lots of local advice. A wonderful, peaceful and relaxing place. Thank you. We will be back!

You'll be lucky if you can find a free week to stay here - we've been returning for 5 years and have already booked again as many other visitors do! The helpful friendliness of the hosts, the beautiful, peaceful location and a private pool make this our perfect holiday spot. The local area also has much to offer with markets, restaurants, etc. Just add the best weather and it can't be beaten for a totally relaxing, get away from it all, break from the rat race!
