Pet Friendly Private River View Cottage in Dordogne Countryside

River View Cottage is an excellent base from which to explore the region. The pool was perfect for our family and the garden large enough for each of us to find our perfect space, with plenty of shade on offer. The cottage was well-equipped with everything that we needed and plenty of space to prepare meals. Mary was nearby if we needed anything and she always had great suggestions for places to visit and restaurants to enjoy. Mary was kind enough to arrange our visit to the vets prior to our departure, which was greatly appreciated. Our dog really enjoyed her walks around the extensive space on offer.

Very comfortable cottage with lovely garden and pool, very welcome in the hot weather. Owners were friendly and helpful. 2 local lakes with cafes for swimming/relaxing and easily accessible to towns, chateaux and local sites. Such a beautiful area, very green and at least when we stayed quiet and peaceful. Thank you.

River View Cottage is nestled in the most beautiful spot. We were met by Mary, who was so kind and attentive to our needs. She lives across from the cottage with her family and is on hand to answer any questions and makes great recommendations. There is a comprehensive info pack on places to visit, including markets etc. We enjoyed a mix of going out to local towns, lakes and markets as well as spending time in the garden and using the pool. We took our 16 year old son to the karting track a couple of times where he had a fantastic time. Excellent facilities and so much fun! We used the BBQ most evenings and enjoyed the very tranquil surroundings. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Thank you Mary for everything. It was a pleasure meeting you.

We had a fantastic week at River View Cottage, we wished we could have stayed longer! The location is beautiful and we loved the view down to the river and the fact that we had all this right on our doorstep. The pool was perfect for our children (aged 9 and 7) and we used it every day. We loved the garden as it was perfect to relax in the sun (or shade), dine al fresco and if the children wanted to run around more they could pop out of the back gate and be visible all the way to the river. Mary was very welcoming and helpful and if we needed her we knew she was just a stone’s throw away but completely non-intrusive. The area is wonderful for a family holiday. We had a great time getting out and about chilling by the lake, cycling, canoeing (would recommend Brantôme, very picturesque), visiting the caves at Villars, the treetop adventure etc. We had the best time and would love to return another time!

An idyllic fortnight spent with my partner and the dog. Just us in the middle of the countryside. It was the perfect place to relax. Mary, Sam & their daughters were lovely to deal with and should be very proud of what they are achieving. Would certainly recommend
