😊: Good location. 😢: Narrow stairs which are impossible to climb with a suitcase. The owner doesn’t include this in the small print but require 200 EUR deposit. It’s small, damp and smells. The bed was rock hard and hair all over the bathroom. We had to leave and check into a hotel..

😊: The property is perfectly located in the centre of Cognac. There is lots to do in the surrounding area including multiple cognac houses. It is perfectly stocked with everything you would need for a stay.. 😢: Nothing comes to mind.

😊: It's very central with all the main sites in easy walking distance. The parking, which is a 4 minute walk away, is free and the car park not busy.. 😢: If you have any kind of mobility issue this is not the place for you. Access to the property is via a very steep stairway to the 2nd floor, which we wouldn't have been able to get our suitcases up, so had to transfer sufficient clothing into an overnight bag and leave the suitcases in the car. If there is an emergency/fire you're going to have to try your luck over the rear balcony. There is no air con and having the windows open was very noisy due to the proximity to the street, so we barely slept for 2 days. The bathroom needs a lick of paint as it is quite tatty. I didn't like having to take my own rubbish with me when I left and put it in communal bins down the street - that, I feel, is unnecessary and shouldn't be the responsibility of the guest. Taking a €250 deposit wasn't great - I use Monzo while travelling and it actually took the funds from my account, which weren't paid back for 7 days. My advice would be to use a credit card and it'll just pre-auth the funds but not take them..
