Nice Renting - CAMBRAI03 - Seaside Studio on the Promenade des Anglais

😊: DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMODATION!. 😢: DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION!!! Staying at this place was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had while traveling. Unfortunately, we had to find another place to stay and incur extra costs because the host completely ghosted us, and even Booking.com couldn't get ahold of them. To start off, the check-in instructions were incorrect, and the padlock was broken. On top of that, there is a loud construction site right next to the building that starts early in the morning, which wasn't mentioned anywhere in the listing. The entire apartment reeked of a disgusting sewage smell, and there wasn't even a scent diffuser to try and mask it. The air conditioning in the room wasn't working (it was out of refrigerant), the bathroom was moldy, and the high humidity in the apartment only made the stench worse. Despite reporting all of this to the host, they completely ignored us. Due to the terrible smell and the scorching heat without AC, it was impossible to stay there, so we moved out. We were ripped off, and the owner should be ashamed of treating paying customers this way..

😊: The apartment is situated on the first floor of a typical house in Nice. Easy to enter the building with magnet key and entrancekeys, The apartment is small but fully equipped with washing machine, kitchen and enough storage room. Also a nice showercorner. And most spectaculair is the view. No balkon, but French window from where you can see the neighborhood and Mediterenian sea.. 😢: The bed is small for 2 adult persons., but cosy..

😊: Located in a quiet residential area, not too far from the tram.. 😢: Quite old house, needs renovation from outside to inside. Some bad smells from the sewage system..

😊: Only good thing is the window view. 😢: I would strongly recommend reading all reviews before booking, as it appears some guests have been offered 100 euro discounts on future stays in exchange for positive feedback. This raises concerns about how accurately the overall rating reflects the actual experience. Aside from the view, unfortunately this flat has very little to offer, and it gives the impression that the owner is aware of the ongoing issues but has chosen not to properly resolve them. Several of these issues also gave the impression that cost-saving measures were being prioritised over guest comfort. The most significant problem was a persistent sewage stench coming from both the kitchen sink and the bathroom. It was particularly noticeable at night and often woke me up, especially as the bed is positioned in the middle of the room. Hot water was also unreliable - the boiler would run out after around five minutes. Despite being asked to adjust switches and use the “boost” function, and after an “agent” visited, the issue remained throughout my stay. It was not possible to properly shower or wash my hair, and I ended up paying for a nearby gym just to have a normal shower. Heating was another issue. The central radiator appeared to be switched off, and initial instructions to “hold a button for five seconds” did not resolve anything. It was only after repeated complaints that an “agent” attended. As a result, the flat was very cold at night, and I had to sleep fully clothed for the first two nights with only a thin blanket provided. There was also visible mould in the shower, which appeared to be quite ingrained rather than a surface issue. Basic essentials were minimal - approximately one and a half rolls of toilet paper for the entire stay, no dishwashing liquid, and very little used hand soap - which gave the impression the flat was not properly prepared for guests..
