Studio hypercentre élégant et chic

😊: A good, central location, close to the cathedral, shops and restaurants. A good shower.........but, more of this later. Well equipped kitchenette and fridge. A certain charm.......again, more of this later. Closing the shutters addressed some of the noise and light issues.. 😢: Where do I start? Firstly, the parking. Availability was a key criterion when booking this overnight stay. A reserved parking space was stated. It was not until the contact information was received on the morning of arrival that we were informed that the space was suitable for small cars only. If you have anything bigger than a Mini, forget it! If you are looking to arrive at 17.00, which we were, again, forget it. The owner's husband was dispatched with the keys, we had to wait 30 minutes whilst he was stuck in traffic. We couldn't wait in the car as we couldn't get into the car park. Fortunately, there was only a light drizzle.......We had messaged our arrival time, this was apparently ignored. It is important to note that the double bed is a sofa bed..........it is not a good example, the mattress is thin and lumpy and you roll together into the middle. It has been commented on that the room is cluttered with too much furniture. It is. We had to move items around to open the sofa bed. How you would ever open the single futon at the same time is beyond me. Whilst there is charm, the apartment conversion was done before soundproofing regulations came into force (or maybe were just ignored?). The apartment is listed as having soundproofed walls! Rubbish! Evidently, the shower issue raised in William's review, earlier in May, had not been resolved. The drainage was very poor, limiting the amount of time in the shower, otherwise the tray would have overflowed, no doubt aggravating the downstairs occupant again! Overall, there are a number of misrepresentations in the listing of this property - some of which I have highlighted above. It even claims to have a tennis court! It would appear that French travellers go for style over substance - the number of excellent reviews here is baffling. We British appear to value substance..

😢: Cramped. Very uncomfortable sofa bed. Nightmare parking. Shower leaked into the apartment below so we had to act as intermediary between the resident there and the owner of the studio.

😊: Excellent Location Great shower. 😢: Noise from other properties & from the road Only a sofa bed in tiny studio Light from street lights Noise from air freshener spraying every half hour Too much furniture for size of room - could barely move about once the bed was down.

😊: This is a lovely studio apartment. It is in a great location, so close to the magnificent cathedral and walking distance to town.. 😢: It was all lovely.
