😊: Charming building with balcony in a great location only 100mtrs from the Port. Plenty of restaurants and loads of atmosphere..

Lou was a fantastic host providing lots of information for activities in the area.. 😢: Even though the description mentions upper level, it did not mention five flights of stairs... it should be mentioned in the description as some people may not be able to make all the flights..

😊: The property is spacious, and conveniently located for sights and amenities. The location is the main reason for our choice, after weighing up the cons: -- five flights of stairs (more than 100 steps); fragile ornaments with 'Do not touch' labels inside the property to be extra careful with; no air-conditioning in the bedrooms; extras to pay for air-conditioning usage (and late check-in or early check-out); upfront deposit of 290 euros in Cash; and the cleaning and laundry to be done before departure (or pay 50 euros). On check-out, the host's delegate inspected the property and said: 'You left the property very clean; thank you' -- and returned our deposit less the 25 euros for air-con usage.. 😢: Ants in the kitchen, which came out from hiding for any food debris. Fortunately our sighting had been confined to the counter-top and the sink corner. To keep the ants at bay, we kept food in the cupboards above and in the fridge, and were vigilant with any crumbs. We wiped down the surfaces, and washed up the dishes immediately. To avoid attracting ants to the food waste, and to stop smell building up, we used a small plastic/biodegradable bag for food waste and discard DAILY in the public bins situated at the nearby square..

😊: The apartment is in an old building, lots of carature, it has a balcony with a view. There's plenty to see and do. Easy walk to some fabulous restaurants and the old Port is a minute walk away, the back streets have many restaurants, shops, you name it it's here. Really well located. If you are fit, want to be in the centre of Marseille and have an affordable apartment, this is worth the money.. 😢: The stairs we a bit of a problem for my husband, this apartment is on the 5th floor, narrow and winedy stair case, interesting for young people, would be easy. We were a little taken back when told that we would have to wash the towels and bedding and hang them out before we left. My fault, I must have missed this..
