Ancient Normanbarn with piano peacefully situated on the river Andelle

Thank you so much for an amazing holiday at this magical house! We felt the happy energy vibes and also many memories this place holds. Everything was clean - the beds were fabulous (just mentioning this because you will never find a holiday apartment with more comfy beds). In the house there was everything you need and more: table tennis, many games to have a fun night on the terrace. Our dog was not the only to not want to leave the house. For all dog-owners: We travel a lot, but have never found any better place for a dog than this. The water, the peaceful surroundings, the friendly neighbours. All was perfect! Valérie was always friendly, helpful and the overall contact was easy. She explained everything well and even gave us tips for must-sees in the area. We went on many little daytrips: Rouen (Jeanne D‘Arc was executed there), Dieppe (great seaside city),Etretat (also seaside), Lyon-la-forêt (Madame Bovary was filmed here, lovely little place), Le Havre (futuristic city), Honfleur (absolutely beautiful little town, our highlight). We also recommend the Bison parc (Rêve de Bisons). Our little daughter fell in love with the Bisons. You can really spend all day there. Another highlight was the Monet garden at Giverny. As an art historian I was overwhelmed with the flowers and Monets house. It is like goong back in time. All within 30-60 minutes distance. With a car it was absolutely no problem, as you mostly drive quiet areas and countryside streets. This way we got to see a lot of typical Normandie nature as well. You will surely enjoy your time at Morville-sur-Andelle.

The island is stunning and magic. The house is very spacious and well equipped including art and literature. Maybe even too many things so you can’t store all of your thing.

This quaint home is full of character and charm - very different from anywhere else I've stayed. There was plenty of space for 7 of us (3 generations) and lots of outdoor space for the children. It had a very homely and comfortable feel.

Fabulous well equipped countryside house - spacious layout, all mod cons, even some real art & being in the heart of Normandy - a great easy to get to location. Amazing tranquil countryside spot with a river literally running through it's beautiful garden. Great for visits to the Dieppe Alabaster (Chalk Cliff) Coast, Rouen, Paris, Monet's Garden and others. Even the Tour De France passed by 10KM away this year while we were there. And of course Les Blues won the World Cup - everyone was happy. The teenagers loved the outdoor full size table tennis. Overall: Highly recommended 5 Stars all round.

When we first set eyes on the house and gardens we couldn't believe our luck, I knew we were going to have a good week. The house itself is very homely with photos of the family and drawings done by the children, it makes you imagine what your life would be like if you lived there. It's a very tranquil place and the sound of the river is very relaxing, especially when swinging from a hammock that can be hung at the back of the house. My children loved playing in the river that runs through the garden, it's shallow enough for paddling and there's also lots of opportunity's for exploring nearby. Valerie made everything very easy and understandable, she responded quickly to any questions before we arrived and there was also a well written book with plenty of information on the house and local area. We stayed at L'isle sur Andelle for 10 days end August beginning September. From entering the property over two wooden bridges traversing the streams surrounding the home, one immediately has a sense of privacy and tranquility. The picturesque home is perfectly situated and well kept, surrounded by pretty gardens which were still in bloom. Entering the home one immediately feels welcome - it is lovingly furnished with an old world charm - you have the feeling that these are happy family memories. Am amazing open fireplace, leading onto a little patio, overlooking lush lawns, a field and the horses paddock. Totally idyllic. The kitchen is well appointed is easy to cook with all the produce from the local village farmers markets (of which Valerie has made excellent note of in the house information). The bathrooms were clean and the bedrooms very comfortable. Valerie was very swift in responding to any questions we had prior to our stay - the house book also contains a thorough detailed information about the appliances in the house, the handy contact details and detailed lists of the interesting sights to see in the surroundings (which are beautiful). The village is situated in a large magnificent forest area with plenty of walking possibilities. We can not wait to book another stay in this small slice of paradise in Normandy.
