Charming cottage style property nestled in stunning French countryside near Carcassonne and Mirepoix

Our home for the 2 weeks was wonderful, just as shown in photos, very clean and the bed was so comfy.The pool was great, pity the weather didnt hold up.Sarah was a fantastic host, always their to answer any questions either in person or on the phone/text with lots of recommendations too. Will tell all our friends. As it says the property is in the middle of fields so a car is needed to explore. 10/10 all round

L'hébergement du domaine de La Barre est parfait aussi bien le confort, l'équipement,la propreté, son environnement calme, apaisant concourt à un séjour serein, délassant et à proximité des sites cathares ( Fanjeaux, Mirepoix, Camon, Montsegur...) de belles balades. We had a wonderful, relaxing weeks stay at Domaine de La Barre. The setting is idyllic and the gite was exceptionally clean and tidy with everything we could have needed at hand. Our hosts were great and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. They were extremely knowledgeable on the area, places to visit and recommendations on places to eat. A great place to stay, relax and unwind!

Could not rate Sarah’s place higher. We spent a wonderful two weeks in the peace and tranquility of the countryside. The property is clean and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the terrace and spent many evenings with a beer watching the sunset. The pool is superb with lots of toys, great for two young kids learning to swim. Also enjoyed the outdoor kitchen with BBQ and pizza oven. It was a perfect place to set up base and explore the surrounding area, and we went to the beach, Andorra shopping, wine tasting in the Malpere region, and visited the space museum at Toulouse. Overall, a superb family holiday and would love to return.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Sarah. Le gite correspond parfaitement aux photos, il est très très calme et bien placé pour rayonner et voir Carcassonne, Toulouse, le canal du midi, les châteaux Cathares et bien plus encore si vous avez du temps.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely part of France. The gîte was well specced, the exclusive use of the summer kitchen was unexpected and great giving us space to store our bikes. Fans are provided in each room to keep cool, a blind on the lounge window would be an idea to help stop the direct sunlight In this space. The pool area is beautiful and serene with absolutely loads of space. Sarah very kindly offered us to help ourselves to any salad and vegetables that were growing which is such a lovely thought. Sarah is friendly and available but totally discreet at same time, a perfect combination.

I do not think I can add or subtract from the excellent reviews that have already been given. Overall, we had a very pleasant week at La Domaine de la Barre. We especially enjoyed the pool which is exactly as it is pictured. We also appreciated Sarah's attentiveness to our needs and responsiveness to our questions. We would definitely stay there again.
