La maison de Mado

😊: Lovely clean and spacious house. Nice kitchen, lounge and bathroom. Private parking. Comfy beds.. 😢: A little more out of town than expected, but a 25 minute walk and we were in the center of vendome.. Unfortunately the weather was too good and the temperature high. The upstairs bedroom was really hot, It was necessary to have the window fully open , but to be fair, the proprietor had left two electric fans that helped cool it nicely.. the downstairs bedroom was lovely and cool..

😊: The off road parking was good, the area was quiet and the property was within walking distance of some shops. The host, Daniel was very friendly.. 😢: When we entered the property we noticed a musty, damp odour, which was very unpleasant. The bed sheets did not smell clean, when lifting the fitted bed sheets, we found hair and we did not use the beds because they didn't seem clean. The towels were the same, they didn't smell of detergent or fabric softener, so we didn't feel comfortable using them to have a shower. The only member of our group to have a shower brought his own towel. Anyone with mobility issues will struggle to get up the narrow spiral staircase to the first floor. The decor is dated and a little creepy. We will not be staying at the property again and I would not recommend it..
