😊: The location of the room was perfect. Everything was within a short walk... the medieval city, the Canal du Midi, the shopping and dining areas, the train station, bus stops... the location could not have been better. Information about the location and how to get in was perfect.. 😢: I really don't like negativity but I can't ignore it. I like a bargain, budget room to stay. They're just somewhere to sleep when I'm exploring. So I wasn't worried about the size of the room especially since I was on my own. I can't imagine sharing it with someone else though. When I arrived I was uncertain whether the bed had been made for my arrival. It was sort of dishevelled. After reading some reviews at 1am (that will come later) I was left wondering if it hadn't been. The bed was dreadful. The pillows were useless, the bed creaked with every movement and I barely slept. The message I received was that the room overlooked a courtyard so no street noise. Give me street noise and fresh air over the hellhole that was the "courtyard". In reality it was a small, dead space between rooms with a roof so there was no fresh air and you can hear EVERYTHING from the other bedrooms. There was a competition one night between two snorers. The temperatures outside and the lack of fresh air made the room an airless hot box. After having a cold shower at 1am AGAIN to try to cool down enough to sleep, I gave up and booked another hotel room elsewhere that had air conditioning. I had booked this room for 5 nights, I almost left after 2 and I did leave after 3. The smoke alarm was missing from the ceiling. I found it on a shelf after it flashed one night while lying awake staring at the ceiling..
